In addition to the classic charging process, the Vapcell BL4 offers additional functions such as capacity tests, discharge programmes, a storage mode for the optimal storage of lithium batteries and a repair mode for the possible reactivation of deeply discharged cells. Important note: For small Li-ion batteries such as 10440 or 14500, the Pro mode with manually reduced charging current should preferably be used. The Vapcell BL4 is designed for a wide range of modern battery types and supports both lithium and nickel-based round cells.

The charger is compatible with formats including 10440, 14500, 16340, 16650, 17500, 18350, 18490, 18500, 18650, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26500, 26650, 32650, 26800 and 32700 as well as AA, AAA, SC, C and D.
Rechargeable batteries xx800 can only be charged without integrated protection electronics (max. 82mm).
Size 32650 can only be charged in charging slots 1 and 4, also some 26650 depending on design. Cannot be charged in charging slots 2 and 3 as the positive terminal can slip off the contacts.

Frequently asked questions about the Vapcell BL4

Why does the Vapcell BL4 partially charge small Li-Ion batteries with high current in Simple mode?
In Simple mode, the Vapcell BL4 automatically recognises normal Li-Ion 4.2V and Ni-MH / Ni-Cd batteries. For small Li-Ion cells, however, the charging current is not necessarily fine-tuned according to capacity. For very small round cells such as 10440 or 14500, Pro mode with manually selected, gentle charging current is therefore recommended.
Why does charging not start in Pro mode?
In Pro mode, the DISPLAY button must be held down for approx. 2 seconds after selecting the battery type, operating mode and, if necessary, charging current. As long as the settings are still flashing, the programme has not yet started.
Do I always have to select the battery type manually?
No. Normal Li-Ion 4.2V as well as Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries are automatically recognised in simple operation. LiFePO4 3.2V, Li-Ion 4.35V and 1.5V Li-Ion batteries, however, must be selected manually.
Why can't I test or discharge 1.5V Li-Ion batteries?
The Vapcell BL4 only supports 1.5V Li-Ion batteries in charge mode. Functions such as Test, Discharge, Storage or Repair are not available for this battery type.
Why doesn't the BL4 charge all four slots simultaneously with a high charging current?
This is not a defect, but a technical issue. The maximum available charging current is distributed depending on the number of occupied bays. If several batteries are charged at the same time, the charger automatically reduces the current to ensure safe and stable operation.
Which power supply unit should I use for the Vapcell BL4?
We recommend a sufficiently powerful power supply unit, ideally with QC 3.0 and 9V / 2A. A power supply that is too weak can lead to charging interruptions, restarts or unreliable operation.
What does "ERR" mean on the display?
The "ERR" display usually indicates a problem with the inserted battery. Possible causes are an incorrectly inserted battery, an unsupported battery type or a damaged or incorrectly recognisable cell.
Why is a deeply discharged battery not recognised or repaired?
The repair function can reactivate certain weak or deeply discharged batteries under certain circumstances, but offers no guarantee. Severely damaged, very deeply discharged or defective cells are often no longer recognised or can no longer be reactivated safely.
Why do several slots suddenly change at the same time?
The Vapcell BL4 has a common mode with which several bays can be configured simultaneously. If several identical batteries are inserted, settings can be applied collectively. For individual settings, you can switch back to the individual view.
How does the test mode work?
In test mode, the battery automatically runs through a charging, discharging and recharging process. The capacity removed is recorded so that the actual performance of the battery can be better assessed.
Can the Vapcell BL4 also be used as a power bank?
Yes, the charger has a USB output function and can use inserted batteries to power external devices. This makes the BL4 suitable not only for charging and analysing, but also as a practical additional solution for on the go.
