With two independently operating charging bays, precise charge monitoring and a wide adjustable charging current range, the charger is suitable for everyday use as well as for demanding applications in the hobby or technical sector.

High charging current and flexible current selection for many cylindrical batteries


In addition to the classic charging process, the Vapcell SU2 offers flexible current control in auto or manual mode. In auto mode, the charging current is automatically assigned based on the measured internal resistance, while in manual mode the charging current can be selected specifically. This allows the charging behaviour to be adapted to different cell types and areas of application. (1.5V Li-Ion: charging function only, charging current not freely adjustable)

Important note: For small Li-ion batteries such as 10440 or 14500, Pro mode should preferably be used in conjunction with Manual mode and reduced charging current. For unknown or very small cells, the charging current should always be selected based on the data sheet. The charger is compatible with formats including 10440, 14500, 16340, 16650, 17500, 18350, 18490, 18500, 18650, 20700, 21700, 22650, 26500, 26650, 26800, 32650 and 32700 as well as AA, AAA, SC, C and D.
The usable cell range is approximately 10 to 32 mm in diameter and 34 to 82 mm in length.

Frequently asked questions about the Vapcell SU2

Why does charging not start in Pro mode?
In Pro mode, after selecting the battery type and charging current, the DISPLAY button must be held down for approx. 2 seconds. As long as the settings are still flashing, the programme has not yet started.
Do I always have to select the battery type manually?
No. Normal Li-Ion 4.2V as well as Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries are automatically recognised in Simple mode. LiFePO4 3.2V, Li-Ion 4.35V and 1.5V Li-Ion batteries, however, must be selected manually.
What is the difference between Auto Mode and Manual Mode?
In Auto mode, the SU2 automatically distributes the charging current based on the measured internal resistance. In manual mode, you can set the charging current yourself, which is particularly useful for small or more sensitive cells.
Can I test or discharge batteries with the Vapcell SU2?
The Vapcell SU2 is first and foremost a powerful charger with real-time display of important battery data. It does not offer separate discharge, storage or test programmes like some larger analysis chargers.
Why can't I freely set the charging current for 1.5V Li-Ion batteries?
With 1.5V Li-Ion batteries, the charging current is adjusted by the internal electronics of the battery or the protection system. The SU2 works here with a compatible charging characteristic and supports a maximum of 500mA.
Which power supply should I use for the Vapcell SU2?
The SU2 is designed for operation with a 12V DC power supply unit. For stable operation, only a sufficiently powerful and suitable power supply unit should be used.
What does "ERR" mean on the display?
The "ERR" display usually indicates an incorrectly inserted battery, an unsupported battery type or a damaged or incorrectly recognisable cell.
Can the Vapcell SU2 also be used as a power bank?
Yes, the charger has a USB output function and can use inserted Li-ion batteries to power external devices. To use the USB function, the external power supply must be disconnected.
